# Review and sign

> Check the batch, then sign to lock it

Review is where mistakes get caught, because signing is where the batch stops being editable. Nothing after this step can change what gets paid.

## Review the batch

On the batch detail page, check the payout as it will actually execute:

* The recipient list, with each amount and claim date
* The **total payout**
* The rail and payment type
* The payment date, for scheduled payouts

Fix anything now — amounts and claim dates are editable in place until you sign.

## Sign the batch

Select **Sign Batch**. The **Sign to Confirm Payout** dialog summarizes the rail, recipient count, total amount, and scheduled claim date — compare these against what you intended, then select **Sign Record**.

<Note>
  Signing makes the payout tamper-proof, but it does not initiate the payout. After you sign, the recipients, amounts, and other details cannot be changed — even by Pvium.
</Note>

Signing is cryptographic finalization: your signature commits to the exact payment set, and altering any detail afterward invalidates it. The payout that gets funded is exactly the payout you reviewed. See [Security](/concepts/security#cryptographic-payout-finalization) for how the guarantee works.

Once signed, the batch shows as finalized and is ready to fund.
